Engineering Specialists’ Partnership with Rittal & Eplan

Future-Ready Panel Building Today

As a 50-year systems integrator and panel builder, and as a proud Pinnacle Automation Community (PAC) partner, we have invested in modern automation and digital engineering to deliver shorter lead times, consistent quality, and scalable capacity for our customers across their various industries. Here’s how we did it…

Partnering for Success

Partnering for Success

Facing rising demand, we reimagined our shop floor, and what once took weeks now takes days. That leap came from targeted automation investments and process redesigns thanks to a valuable partnership with Eplan & Rittal. After exploring their portfolio, we invested in quality solutions and services that streamlined our operations with state-of-the-art automation. By joining their Pinnacle Automation Community (PAC), we gained access to a collaborative environment of forward-thinking panel shops, integrators, and OEMs focused on providing customers with efficient, best-in-class panel building solutions, and Rittal & Eplan who provide a wealth of resources and support.

Speed Meets Precision

We first invested in the Perforex Laser Center LC (acquired March 2023), which:

  • Enables five-side laser machining of enclosures in minutes
  • Eliminates burrs and manual finishing
  • Delivers high-precision, repeatable cut-outs

This is ideal for industries that require high-volume stainless-steel enclosures.

Consistent Wiring, Less Waste, Better Throughput

Wiring variability and waste were a bottleneck. In August 2024, we took the next big step forward by adding the Wire Terminal WT machine from Rittal Automation Systems (RAS) to:

  • Standardize wire processing
  • Pre-assemble labeled harnesses
  • Minimize material waste

Coupled with a company-wide switch to Eplan engineering software, wiring is now predictable and repeatable. This effectively:

  • Reduces rework
  • Speeds up assembly
  • Enables technicians to produce professional, consistent results every time

Digital Engineering: The Backbone of a Holistic System

While we actively move from legacy CAD to the Eplan Platform, we are unifying engineering data across design and production. Eplan’s Data Portal and built-in macros accelerate design and supply chain workflows, while planned adoption of Eplan Smart Wiring will further streamline app-based, paperless wiring on the shop floor.

Our goal is a data-driven, end-to-end production system where a single project file powers design, machining, wiring, and testing to cut errors and accelerate time to delivery for our customers.
